Dennis Currington – Senior Account Manager

Dennis Currington joined Career Development Partners as the Senior Account Manager to oversee new and existing client development in the core disciplines of executive coaching, outplacement, recruiting, transitional training and professional career assessment. Most recently Dennis has been assisting with the development of two family-owned businesses in publishing and mortgage banking.

Dennis is a proven professional with a solid track record of relationship building and nurturing, both in his business experience and his personal life. As the newest member of the Career Development Partners team, he will be actively involved in assessing client needs and developing customized career program solutions utilizing the full range of services CDP has offered for more than twenty-two years.

In his previous role with the Tulsa Metro Chamber, Dennis had sole responsibility for forming and developing the Chamber’s Small Business Center as a premier research tool by making D&B data available to more than 40K Tulsa area businesses for demographic and marketing research.

Dennis also established himself during his nine-year Chamber career as a champion for both small and minority business development. Under his direction, many activities were promoted for local business owners competing on the local, state, and national SBA awards program, which resulted in numerous small and minority business owners receiving recognition at the state and regional SBA awards gatherings.

Diversity has been a major theme in Dennis’s personal and business life, beginning with his up-bringing in a family-owned and operated business. Those roots motivated Dennis as he worked his way through a five-year work-study engineering program. His mechanical engineering degree propelled him through more than thirty years of industry and business development experience that included a background as a plant engineer in manufacturing, a managing partner of engineering consulting services for the refinery and petrochemical industry, and a business development director for engineering and service related companies.

Dennis continues to share his passion for collaboration and team work through the following business and community leadership roles –

  • 2010/2011 Vice-Chair – Tulsa SCORE Chapter 194
  • 2009/2010 Executive Director – Entrepreneurs of Tulsa
  • Workshop Facilitator / Instructor – SCORE Monthly business plan seminar
  • Business Plan Workshop Instructor – TAEO Program sponsored by Greenwood Chamber
  • Business Strategy Coach – FastTrac Growth Venture Program sponsored by TEDC
  • Business Counselor / Coach – SCORE Quick Response Program

In addition Dennis is recognized as a business advocate through past state and local volunteer roles.

  • OK State Chamber – Small Business Council
  • OK Ethics Consortium – Annual Compass Awards Judge
  • City of Tulsa – Minority Business Certification Committee
  • City of Tulsa Entrepreneur Spirit Award – Founding / Planning Committee
  • TU Students in Free Enterprise – Advisory Board

In his spare time Dennis provides back-office support for his wife’s business in the Christian publishing industry, where she has been providing writing, editorial, and creative design services for more than ten years.

Dennis is a graduate of LeTourneau University in Longview, Texas with a degree in mechanical engineering and received his biblical training and pastoral counseling certificate from Christ for the Nations Institute in Dallas, Texas.

Dennis and Rebecca have been blessed with five children and eight grandchildren and make their home in Sand Springs, Oklahoma.
