Bill Young rejoins Career Development Partners.
Career Development Partners, Inc. is excited to announce that Dr. William (Bill) D. Young, Ed.D., SPHR, L.P.C. has returned to the firm which he founded over 20 years ago. Bill brings extensive experience in human resources management to the firm. Most recently he served as Managing Consultant, Leadership, Learning & Performance for The Williams Companies, Inc., a Fortune 200 energy company. In his capacity he designed, developed, implemented and administered an officer succession management process, conducted assessments, and created development plans for the officer pool for development to executive management positions. Additionally he managed the enterprise-wide Talent Development Process as well as designed, developed, administered and interpreted the CEO Performance Evaluation, Executive Officer Team Peer Evaluation and Board of Directors Effectiveness survey process.
Prior to joining Williams, Bill founded and operated Career Development Services for 15 years. (Career Development Services name was changed to Career Development Partners in January, 2009 to more accurately represent our close relationship with our clients.) At the time, Career Development Services was a human resources consulting firm specializing in providing executive coaching, outplacement and consulting services to companies in Oklahoma, Arkansas, Texas, Missouri, and Kansas. Additional services included, team building, leadership and employee development and customized training solutions including subjects such as change management, workplace diversity, affirmative action, discrimination, sexual harassment and workplace violence.
Bill also has over ten years of experience in various roles within the transportation industry including positions in general and executive management. He is the recipient of numerous awards for customer service and sales excellence including winning the International Salesman of the Year Award for the nation’s largest moving and storage company.
He has extensive community involvement. He was appointed by former Governor George Nigh to the Oklahoma Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Planning and Coordinating Board and served as its Chairman. He was appointed by former Governor David Walters to the Department of Rehabilitation Services, Rehabilitation Advisory Council. He has served as the President of the Mental Health Association in Tulsa, Chairman of the Job Support Center, Chairman of the Tulsa Mental Health Crisis Center Advisory Board and Chairman of the Tulsa Area Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services Planning and Advisory Council among others. He served as the 2001 – 2002 President of the Tulsa Area Human Resources Association and was the recipient of the TAHRA Excellence Award in 2001 and the Oklahoma State Council for Human Resources Management Excellence in Human Resources Management Award in 2002. He currently serves TAHRA as VP President of Leadership Development. He is also an adjunct professor teaching graduate courses at the University of Oklahoma Tulsa campus.
Dr. Young received his undergraduate degree in sociology from the University of Tulsa, his master’s degree in counseling and personnel services from the University of Maryland and his Doctor of Education in counseling psychology from the University of Tulsa. He is a Licensed Professional Counselor, a National Certified Counselor and is certified as a Senior Professional in Human Resources.
