Having just given myself the Honorary MBA in January of 2019 I realized that being in business for myself is a most noble professional when I practice it well. The key is practicing it excellent in every area, but especially as it relates to the people that pass through my life daily.

No other opportunity allows me so many means to help people grow professionally.  Learning foremost that what we do today is important because it will impact tomorrow. Every individual must take responsibly for the things we do and say. May we give deeper thought to what comes out of your mouth. Our contributions should be recognized for accomplishments that are measurable in the human sector, not just the bottom line of a company‚Äôs profit and loss statement.  Coach humans to look beyond the theories of business as taught in MBA programs to thought-provoking innovation that makes a difference in the lives of people. Develop and mentor others into becoming better contributors in areas that count. Think beyond the workplace and into your family and friendships which is outside the business world. Families are important!

What a person does with and honorary MBA degree is not about selling, buying and investing in business unfortunately, but in building up the people around you.

Ask yourself some questions to help you get beyond the MBA and into the unique business of building up people for lasting impact.
How does what I do impact my own life?  Am I happy in what I am doing?

How does it impact others around me?  Are my family and friends being impacted by my education or by my investment in their happiness?

How will it impact my life journey?  Will I end up living a life of shame and loss or in celebration of impact?

Please forgive me if you have an earned MBA as I have no intention of putting you down. You have invested tons of money and time to earn this degree.   You are one of the elites in the world and I truly am proud for you.

Final question.   Examine how you will measure your life when it is all over.  This is such a good exercise for all of us to do.  Think about eternity.   What really counts?  If you have a question about eternity, I would love to chat with you.

Have a wonderful day.

Sincerely,

Travis
